The roots of Sperry Van Ness Whitney Commercial take you to the island of Clearwater Beach, Florida. It began in an 8 foot by 24 foot office built upon what was one parking space. Since that time, members of the immediate Whitney family have practiced real estate in Florida, Colorado, Massachusetts and North Carolina.

The firm is presently owned and operated by Richard Whitney, CCIM, SIOR, CPM.GC, a second generation Realtor who entered the real estate profession in 1974 at the age of 19. We presently operate from a new 60,000 square foot class-A office building in Asheville’s finest business park, the Ridgefield Business Center. We are proud to be Ridgefield's primary leasing agents and property managers. Our staff consists of five licensed specialists, three property managers a Business Manager, and a Marketing Director.
